#RPGaDay: Playing Catchup

Melissa and I are really busy wrapping up art for the dice pool/kids version of Dungeons & Delvers, so here's another lightning round/catch-up RPGaDay post.

Day 23: Most jaw-dropping layout
I'm gonna have to give this to the 5E D&D core set. I don't really like the game, but it's full of art (much of which is actually decent or good), some nice aesthetic touches, and that paper-texture-page background that indie publishers love to hate on for some reason.

Day 24: PWYW publisher who should charge more?
If you mean someone who only/mostly does PWYW stuff, no one comes to mind. If you mean someone with a PWYW product that that I think is so awesome/amazing/whatever that it should be set to x dollars, well...also no one comes to mind: I just can't think of a single PWYW thing I've downloaded that I'll ever use.

Day 25: Best way to thank your GM?
Tell them what you liked and hated about the session, that way they can keep improving/adjusting the game as needed.

Day 26: Which RPG provides the most useful resources?
I'm going to go with 4th Edition Dungeons & Dragons, because out of all the RPGs I've played that's the only game where I've used most of the books (including issues of Dragon and Dungeon).

Day 27: What are your essential tools for good gaming?
Dice, Google docs for keeping/managing notes, my brain-meats for ideas, and of course my awesome gang of players.

Day 28: What film/series is the biggest source of quotes your group?
Varies by what we're watching. Not really a quote, but I can do a really good Rick voice from Rick & Morty, and during our latest Age of Worms session Humal did something that made me think of Rick, so I said something Rick would probably say in a Rick voice.

Day 29: Best RPG Kickstarter backed?
I'm going to say Numenera because it actually came out at least somewhat on time, and we even played it for a few sessions before getting bored of it.

Might not be saying much because really the only other contenders for this entry would be Inverse World and Pirate World, and it's a toss up as to which is worse. There's a reason I basically only back board games and (mostly) minis and terrain Kickstarters nowadays.

Day 30: RPG genre-mashup I'd wanna see?
I've had this idea over the past month or so about doing a cowboys & Cthulhu mashup. Maybe prehistoric-plus-Lovecraftian horror. Going to work on one or both after I get some more pressing Dungeons & Delvers and Dungeon World stuff out of the way.

Day 31: What do you anticipate most for gaming in 2018?
The above mashups, plus the Red Book for Dungeons & Delvers (though ideally I wanna get that out sooner, but who knows).

Announcements
It look a lot longer than expected, but we finally released The Jinni. As with our other monstrous classes, this one is more faithful to the mythology (so don't go in expecting elemental-themed jinn).

After putting it to a vote, the next couple of classes on the docket are the warden (think 4E D&D warden) and apothecary (gotta go see what they're all about).

Dwarven Vault is our sixth 10+ Treasures volume. If you're interested in thirty dwarven magic items (including an eye that lets you shoot lasers) and nearly a dozen new bits of dungeon gear, check it out!

Just released our second adventure for A Sundered World, The Golden Spiral. If a snail-themed dungeon crawl is your oddly-specific thing, check it out!

By fan demand, we've mashed all of our 10+ Treasure volumes into one big magic item book, making it cheaper and more convenient to buy in print (which you can now do).
